Steve MacDonald serves as executive vice president, general sales manager, basic cable, of Twentieth Television. In this role, Los Angeles-based MacDonald oversees Twentieth Television’s aggressive growth in the off-net cable distribution of sitcoms, dramas, reality programs and all library product. He also oversees the network window sales of feature films in the basic cable market distributed by Twentieth Century Fox, Fox Searchlight Pictures and Regency Pictures. Mr. MacDonald joined Twentieth Television in 1995 as manager, broadcast sales, western division and in 1997 was promoted to be the region’s vice president of broadcast and basic cable sales. In 2000, as the cable arena’s appetite for off-net programming continued to significantly expand, he was promoted to senior vice president, general sales manager, basic cable to specifically focus on this growing aspect of the business. Mr. MacDonald began his career in radio sales on the local, regional and national levels, working for WROR and WMJX in Boston. His next position was at Interep’s Torbet Radio in New York where he was promoted to northwest division regional manager based in San Francisco; followed by national sales manager at KNEW / KSAN; then held a general sales manager position at KABL AM/FM radio prior to joining Fox. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing from New Hampshire College. Serving as Alternate Captain of the university’s hockey team, Mr. MacDonald played in the ECAC Playoffs and the NCAA Division II Final Four National Championships.
