LuskinOIC Back to School Drive

Last year during August, LuskinOIC hosted a Back 2 School Drive in our Downtown Los Angeles location and International Children’s Program Calexico clinic where we gave away backpacks to patients and community members. The backpacks contained essential school supplies such as notebooks, stationary items, and folders that students need for the school year. During both celebrations, LuskinOIC provided families with fun entertainment such as a mariachi band, interactive games and video games, and they got to enjoy delicious snacks. In total, we were able to help both communities by giving away 100 hundred backpacks to families in DTLA and 50 backpacks at the clinic in Calexico.

LuskinOIC is grateful for the help received from our longtime support groups Las Madrecitas and Las Niñas, Los Amigas and Los Amigos, in addition to many others in the community who showered us with many helpful tools. For the grand opening of the Border Clinic in Calexico in August 2022, long-term LuskinOIC supporters volunteered and donated school supplies such as backpacks and food that was needed for the event. Without their continued support, the drive proved an unforgettable success.

This year, we have the chance to host another Back 2 School Drive in August. We would like to welcome patients and community members to join us and to receive back to school materials needed for the new school year.
