Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children’s “Swing for Kids” Golf Classic Set for Sept. 17 at Palos Verdes Golf Club
Date: 08/08/2018
Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children (OIC) has announced that its annual “Swing for Kids Golf Classic” will be held Sept. 17 at the beautiful Palos Verdes Golf Club. Proceeds will support OIC’s “2020: A Vision for Our Future” campaign and help fund the creation of new medical pavilion, urgent care center, research laboratories and education facilities on OIC’s downtown Los Angeles campus.
“Each year OIC receives nearly 70,000 patient visits of children with musculoskeletal disorders and cares for these kids regardless of their ability to pay,” said OIC Golf Classic Chair Dan Madden. “By supporting events such as the Swing for Kids Golf Classic, you help make certain our ability to provide this amazing service and ensure that all children with orthopaedic conditions have a future where they can grow well and play well.”
The centerpiece to OIC’s “A Vision for Our Future” campaign will be a major reconstruction to transform the Lowman Building into a state-of-the-art medical pavilion. Inside this new pavilion will be the largest pediatric orthopaedic urgent care center in the United States that will include a new fracture clinic, physical therapy center, research laboratories, pharmacy, radiology center and lecture hall. This transformation will help ensure that OIC’s expert surgeons, doctors and nurses have the best facilities and equipment to care for the increasing numbers of children who come through its doors.
The 2018 Swing for Kids Golf Classic has been generously supported by presenting sponsors, Swapchain and the Roopal and Bharati Shah family. Various other levels of sponsorship are still available as well as slots for individual golfers who will play the beautiful course and be treated to a reception, silent auction and unique culinary dining experience that evening featuring many of Los Angeles’ top mixologists.
