Share Your Time and Talent to Make a Difference

At LuskinOIC, we create meaningful opportunities for our volunteers. After all, we wouldn’t be where we are today without their dedicated service. Volunteering at LuskinOIC is rewarding, impactful, and flexible, whether you’re interested in a one-time commitment, part-time or regular basis as a team, with a buddy or solo.

Volunteer Opportunities

Our volunteer opportunities are designed for those seeking a range of experiences whether you’re a retiree, working individual, college or high school student or someone wanting to make an impact. A variety of opportunities are available including supporting our research labs, urgent care, orthopaedic rehabilitation, patient recreation, outpatient clinics, welcome desk, Ozzie’s Café, special events and more. Individuals who speak both English and Spanish are especially needed.

The Charitable Children’s Guild

LuskinOIC’s first support group

The Charitable Children’s Guild was founded in 1911 in support of Dr. Charles LeRoy Lowman’s pioneering care for children with crippling conditions. Since then, The Guild has given nearly $10 million to LuskinOIC. The Guild has made the future better by helping children through volunteer and financial support which has significantly strengthened the programs at LuskinOIC. The Guild and its energetic auxiliaries focus their attention on ensuring that children get the orthopedic medical care they need to get the most out of life, continuing the legacy of hope and promise left by Dr. Lowman. Since the Guild began, no child has ever been turned away from LuskinOIC for financial reasons.

The Auxiliaries of Charitable Children’s Guild include: La Cańada Flintridge Orthopaedic Guild, Las Amigas de Las Lomas, Los Amigos, Las Madrecitas, Las Niñas de Las Madrecitas, and Las Vecinas. These groups coordinate annual signature events such as a book and author luncheon, Evergreen Ball, fashion show and more to help raise over thousands of dollars for our pediatric patients at LuskinOIC.

Our Patient Stories

To us, a successful patient story is when a child is making the right progress to reach that all-important goal: to walk, run and play just like any other child. When you give, you help make this a reality. Together, we are helping kids be kids again.
