Chondroblastoma is a benign (non-cancerous) tumor that grows at the end of the long bones, close to the joints. They’re most commonly found in the thigh bone, upper arm bone or shin bone, but the vast majority of these tumors develop and occur around the knee. Although they are non-cancerous, they can still cause problems and can grow into healthy bones, so should be treated. Causes

The common signs and symptoms of chondroblastoma are:
- Swelling
- Joint stiffness
- Limping
- Decreased range of motion
- Ongoing pain in the affected area
To determine if your child has chondroblastoma, your specialized doctor may use multiple tests:
- Physical exam
- Imaging tests such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scan or bone scan
- Biopsy or tissue sample

Surgical Treatment
Chondroblastoma is usually treated with surgery.
