Causes
The cause of polydactyly is unknown, although in some cases it can be traced back to an underlying hereditary syndrome.
Symptoms
Diagnosis
Before a baby is born, a doctor will perform an ultrasound and may be able to see the deformity. Once the baby is born, the doctor will be able to diagnose it by sight.
Treatment
Our expert doctors will determine the best treatment approach and evaluate all options to ensure the best outcome for your child.
Surgical Treatment
Most cases of polydactyly are treated with surgery by removing the extra fingers or toes when the child is between 1 and 2 years old.
