Our Leadership

Michael P. Sullivan

VP, Chief Philanthropy Officer

With over 30 years of experience in healthcare philanthropy, marketing, and community relations, Michael Sullivan serves as the Vice President and Chief Philanthropy Officer at Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children (LuskinOIC). Since joining LuskinOIC in 2013, Michael has played a pivotal role in expanding the Institute’s philanthropic reach, overseeing foundation initiatives, marketing, business development, and community engagement. Michael’s fundraising expertise played an instrumental role in securing the largest bequest gift in LuskinOIC history from the Luskins, a transformative contribution that will sustain and expand the Institute’s mission of providing world-class pediatric orthopaedic care. Under his leadership, LuskinOIC has successfully rebranded, exceeded the goals of two capital campaigns, and strengthened its presence within the community. His innovative approach also led to the adoption of Ozzie the Dragon, the beloved mascot of the Everychild Foundation Playground.

Prior to LuskinOIC, Michael held key leadership positions in renowned healthcare institutions across the country. At Harvard Hospital System, he spearheaded major fundraising and marketing initiatives, securing a $3 million grant from Walgreens for diabetes research and exceeding fundraising goals for a new rehabilitation hospital in Boston. During his tenure at Nantucket Hospital, he launched the "Boston Pops on Nantucket" annual concert, which has since raised over $50 million. His expertise in strategic philanthropy also led to the successful merger branding of two Catholic hospitals in his hometown of Lowell, Massachusetts.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts from Suffolk University and certifications in Major Gift Planning and Planned Giving from the Institute of Charitable Giving in Chicago. His extensive experience and passion for healthcare philanthropy continue to drive LuskinOIC’s mission of transforming the lives of children through world-class orthopaedic care.
