Overview

Jenna Wahbeh is a 6th year PhD student at the JVL Orthopaedic Research Center at Luskin OIC. Jenna’s dissertation work focuses on the evaluation of cervical disc replacements to improve clinical outcomes. Her published research includes collaborative studies with UCLA trauma surgeons looking at fracture fixation devices, assessment of 3D-printed tracheal stents to treat infantile tracheobronchomalacia, and multiple studies on the analysis of cervical disc replacements.

Jenna was awarded the ORS Spine Section Travel Fellowship, allowing her to collaborate with spinal researchers at the University of Waterloo. There, she worked on validating her innovative 3D printed cervical vertebral body for biomechanical assessments of cervical devices. Additionally, she received the UCLA 2024-2025 UCLA Dissertation Year Fellowship, supporting her work during the final year of her PhD.

Jenna earned her Master’s degree in bioengineering from UCLA in 2020 and her Bachelor’s degree from USC in 2019. She is scheduled to defend her dissertation in early 2025, marking the culmination of her extensive academic and research efforts at Luskin OIC.
